The device is intended to protect electronic devices installed in the car, which are powered by the car's on-board (battery) voltage, from overvoltages in the car's power supply system. The device is designed to protect against the overvoltages inherent in device tests in accordance with ISO 7637-2.
The device also protects the car battery from being completely discharged and the wiring circuits from exceeding the power consumption of the devices. The device has an integrated output disconnect scheme that disconnects power to users when input conditions exceed specified limits. In the event of short overvoltages, the device maintains a constant maximum output voltage, and in the event of short voltage fluctuations in the negative direction, the device maintains power supply within the limits set by the users. In this way, the power supply to the equipment is ensured even in the event of short-term exceedances of the permissible voltage and its disappearance. |
